Data Sources

We have attempted to pull together links to a reasonably comprehensive set of data, covering many aspects of the sustainability problem. In some cases, the links point directly to the data set. In other cases (especially when the source organization has several data sets), the link points to a more general page.

When deciding whether to include data, we used the following criteria. Data should be:

• Available online (or easily downloadable)
• Free (or include a useful free subset)
• Global or regional
• Relevant to sustainable development
